Can Dogs Eat Oranges? Segments, Peel and Seeds
Plain orange segments are fine in small amounts. Peel and seeds are not a good idea.
Safe amount
One or two small segments as a treat, depending on your dog's size.
How to prepare it
Peel it completely and remove the seeds. Offer a plain segment, cut smaller for small dogs.
Risks
Oranges contain natural sugar and acid, so too much can cause diarrhea or an upset stomach, and sensitive dogs may react to small amounts. The peel is tough to digest and can cause a blockage, so keep discarded peels out of reach. The ASPCA says eating the fruit itself is not likely to cause problems beyond minor stomach upset.
